Strong Together in the Northwest

Top-level Northwest Alliance meeting in the Forum at Domshof: Bremen’s Science Senator Henrike Müller and her Lower Saxony counterpart Falko Mohrs met with the leaders of the University of Bremen and the University of Oldenburg to discuss the status of the Excellence proposal.

The President of the University of Bremen, Jutta Günther, warmly welcomed the guests from Bremen and Lower Saxony on February 7, 2026, in the Forum at Domshof building in Bremen’s city center. She and the President of the University of Oldenburg, Ralph Bruder, gave Senator Müller and Minister Mohrs an update on the status of the proposal and preparations for the on-site visit, which is scheduled for the spring.

Subsequent in-depth discussions also focused on joint projects of the Northwest Alliance, which was founded one year ago. All participants were impressed by the developments that have taken place since then. President Jutta Günther and President Ralph Bruder are optimistic about the joint Excellence proposal submitted in November, a key milestone in the two universities’ successful, long-term collaboration.
