Promoting excellent research in the alliance between the universities of Bremen and Oldenburg

In order to strengthen academic cooperation in northwestern Germany and provide new short-term momentum for excellent research, the University of Bremen and Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg are establishing the “Northwest Impuls” and “Northwest Advanced” funding lines as of October 1, 2025.

The
“Northwest Impuls”
funding line is specifically designed to initiate new collaborations. Material resources of up to €5,000 per tandem constellation can be applied for. More:

The
“Northwest Advanced”
funding line will support joint research between the two universities. Priority will be given to strengthening the joint research focuses and high-potential areas that characterize the current research profile of the Northwest Alliance.

  • Green Energy Transition
