Laboratories, tiny houses, digital twins, and other infrastructure support research and education. Plans are underway to establish a Collaborative Research Centre entitled \u201cPushing Socio-Technical Boundaries of Energy Transition,\u201d which will further strengthen the interdisciplinary collaboration.  <\/p>\n<p>The partner institutions contribute expertise to complement one another: The University of Bremen covers the fields of engineering, resilience and transition studies, logistics, manufacturing, and industrial mathematics. At the University of Oldenburg, the main areas of focus include energy informatics, energy law, environmental law, the social sciences, and economics. In addition, researchers at the University of Groningen contribute expertise in social decision-making, spatial planning, psychology, and transitional justice.  <\/p>\n<p>Key structures such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efzn.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lower Saxony Energy Research Center \u2013 EFZN, <\/a>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-bremen.de\/best\/ueber-uns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bremen Center for Energy and Environmental Research \u2013 BEST<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/forwind.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center for Wind Energy Research \u2013 ForWind<\/a> as well as partners such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offis.de\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OFFIS institute of computer science<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlr.de\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">German Aerospace Center \u2013 DLR<\/a>, and the Fraunhofer Institutes are advancing research, transfer, and professional development.
