They have been working together successfully since 2016: The Graduate Academy of the University of Oldenburg and the Bremen Early Career Researcher Development (BYRD) of the University of Bremen. The cooperation agreement has now been renewed – with the common goal of providing even better support for doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers at both institutions in the future.
Each university’s own event and qualification programs have been open to doctoral candidates from the respective other university already. The new agreement extends the previous one to include postdoctoral researchers in the early stages of their careers. This means that postdoctoral researchers can now take advantage of various events, such as workshops, lunch talks, mentoring programs, and online seminar series.
Furthermore, the two graduate institutions will coordinate their programs more closely in future, providing researchers with a comprehensive and diverse range of interdisciplinary training opportunities. The cooperation also offers the opportunity to network beyond one’s own university and establish valuable research contacts.
